You’re invited to the FIRST ANNUAL Miss Opal Pageant, created in loving honor of my grandmother, Emma Jean McLeod (1947–2020).
Why “The Opal Era”?
We chose The Opal Era theme because this pageant represents every decade my grandmother lived through, from 1947 to 2020. Each era reflects a chapter of her life: the times she grew up in, the fashion she wore, the changes she witnessed, and the strength she carried through it all. From the elegance of the mid-century years to the boldness of modern times, each decade tells a story. This pageant honors those stories by allowing contestants to represent any era from the 1940s through the 2020s, celebrating how beauty, confidence, and style evolve over time, just like people do.

The opal gemstone ties it all together. Opals reflect many colors at once, symbolizing a life full of moments, memories, and growth. No two opals are the same, just like no two journeys are the same, and that is what we celebrate on the Miss Opal stage.

• Top wish winner receives a crown, sash, cash prize, 10ft trophy & guaranteed Queen’s Court spot

All funds raised support queen development, community outreach, and future Miss Opal events.
