Butaleja District, located in Uganda’s Eastern Region, is rich in agricultural potential, cultural heritage,
and natural attractions. However, like many rural districts, it faces challenges in youth and women
empowerment, economic development, and tourism visibility.The Miss Butaleja 2026/2027 pageant is a transformative platform designed to celebrate the beauty,
talent, and potential of young women from Butaleja while positioning them as key drivers of district
development. The event will emphasize entrepreneurship as a tool for economic growth and remind the
Butaleja girl child of her critical role as a stakeholder in the district’s progress.
